Non-stop surveillance for Club Hotel Loutraki casino
(15/01/2008)
NICE Systems will be demonstrating the latest in high availability CCTV for gaming at ICE 2008. Innovations include the NVE1008 video encoder, featuring “zero-points of failure” technology (patent pending). Used with NICE’s proven network video recorders, these latest solutions can deliver “non-stop surveillance”, preserving game integrity even in the event of component failure.
Visitors will learn how one of the largest and most successful casinos in Europe, Club Hotel Loutraki, has recently implemented NiceVision technology to enable real-time monitoring across 360 cameras, streamlining its entire CCTV system to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of its security and surveillance operations.
The Loutraki system records real-time (25 fps) video images in full resolution (4CIF) in all gaming areas, cash desks, reception and counting rooms, including synchronised audio. Other areas are recorded on the same system in a lower resolution and frame-rate according to their needs. At a later stage, the control room will be running a full digital matrix, easing the controllability and adding further enhanced user experience to the system. The system uses NICE’s advanced MPEG-4 compression technology to keep 21 days of video on hot-swappable RAID5 storage, whilst minimizing the system footprint in the server rooms and complying with the casino’s 24/7 recording demands.
NICE Systems is approved by the major gaming boards and is providing video surveillance technology to over 150 casinos worldwide including Wynn Resorts in the US and Macau, Grosvenor and Aspinalls casinos in the UK, Akani Group in South Africa and Groupe Emeraude in France.
