APT SkiData partners with Ez-Assure to provide electronic locks for pay-on-foot pay stations
(19/12/2007)
APT SkiData is working with Ez-Assure to provide electronic locks for its pay-on-foot pay stations.
Ez-Assure offers a web-based management solution for controlling physical access via electronic keys and locks. APT Skidata’s pay stations can be fitted with electronic lock cores which replace the traditional locks. One key can be programmed to unlock the front door, the internal locks on the notebook and cash box and all other internal locks, on multiple pay stations.
The battery operated electronic keys are pre-programmed with access permissions so that access can be authorised and restricted accordingly. For example, the key can be set to only unlock the front door – granting access to the ticket coder to fix paper jams. The electronic locks, together with the web-based administration centre provides comprehensive online reporting and a complete audit trail of all events for total security management. Access permissions can be scheduled and key expirations set so that they are disabled when not in use. Lost keys can be easily disabled online.
Dermot Murphy, Managing Director of APT SkiData said: “We are very pleased to be working with Ez-Assure. Its access control adds another dimension to the security of our pay station. It provides an unprecedented level of management control over who has access and what they can do. We have seen this in evidence at the Bullring shopping centre. Ian Crumpton, Accounts and Administration Manager at the Bullring had all 22 pay stations retrofitted with these electronic locks and is experiencing greater staff efficiencies, more transparency of revenue collection and greater security.”
