Drax (UK) Ltd. has launched SiteWatch, a new GSM-based system designed for off site monitoring 24 hours a day. SiteWatch consists of single or multiple remote transmitter units positioned adjacent to the equipment to be monitored, a central receiver unit and a PC equipped with management software, typically located at the facilities manager's office or service organisation.

Easy to install, the SiteWatch Remote Units (up to 255) are hard wired to the monitored equipment's outputs and reads the signals generated by the equipment, such as on, off, fire, fault, open, closed etc. SiteWatch encodes those signals and sends a customised data message via SMS to the SiteWatch Manager. Activation of these inputs can be pre programmed to send tailored messages, such as 'immediate action', 'advise client', 'schedule for next maintenance visit', allowing for the relevant response.

Site details and the nature of the event are displayed and stored on the SiteWatch Managers' PC, together with details of the site and any pre-configured instructions allowing swift response, reduced remote system downtime and better prioritising of resources. Messages can even be forwarded on to the appropriate personnel via text messages to their mobile phones or via email.

SiteWatch thus allows users to view the status of equipment installed anywhere mobile telephone network coverage exists. As the messages are sent as text, running costs are low. Monitored equipment typically includes fire alarms, boilers, intruder alarms, plant monitoring, access control, flow switches and pump activation.

Whilst SiteWatch can be effectively used on a single site (large or unmanned sites for example), the system really comes into its own when used across multiple sites / buildings.

SiteWatch is available exclusively from Drax (UK) Ltd.
