EyeTrust™ has developed an ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) camera and software, that reads number plate and compares it with outstanding traffic fines and warrants of arrest database.

From the time a car passes the camera, it takes less than 2 seconds to read, compare and print a notification slip, this slip is handed over to the traffic officer who will then pull over the offender and present a warning or a warrant of arrest.

This ANPR system makes use of a locally developed high speed camera and a neural network character recognition software package. The software is capable of reading number plates of vehicles moving in access of 180 Km per hour and complete the recognition and database comparison in less than 100 milliseconds.

The EyeTrust™ ANPR system was developed over a period of 2 years and tested with various traffic authorities throughout South Africa. The EyeTrust™ ANPR system had the highest number of successful number plates read out of the three competing for the business.

Traditionally South African law enforcement were left to the mercy of high priced inferior imported products. This system that out performs imported products at less than 50% of the selling price. Full time implementation of various systems will start early next year in conjunction with several traffic departments.

EyeTrust™ is a South African based surveillance equipment, software developer and manufacturer as well as the first South African manufacturer to obtain CE accreditation for locally manufactured products.
