Swedish Local Authority selects BioPassword keystroke biometric authentication solution

When the Åre Local Authority in Sweden upgraded its Citrix environment, it needed an authentication solution that was cost efficient, secure and user friendly. The organisation has chosen Citrix Password Manager with Single Sign On and BioPassword’s software-only, keystroke biometric authentication solution.
Besides being more cost efficient and easier for the users to handle, the authentication solution from BioPassword will enable the employees to get access to both administrative systems and the Council network. These exist on different networks, but with BioPassword’s software users only authenticate once to have access to what they need. The low cost of the system will also enable Åre local authority to offer remote access to substantially more employees than was possible in the past.
“We evaluated several different solutions, including tokens and one time passwords sent to the users’ phones via SMS. These solutions would have been very costly for us, not to mention all the problems with users losing their tokens or forgetting their mobile phones,” explained Anders Sundelin at Åre Local Authority. “BioPassword presented us with a much more cost efficient solution, which now enables us to offer secure remote access to all our users. It’s also a lot more user friendly – you don’t usually forget your hands when you leave home,” concluded Anders Sundelin.
