CBE, a member of the Concannon Group of Companies, is one of the largest electronic point of sale providers in the British Isles with product ranges covering supermarkets, petrol forecourts, hospitality, fashion and cash registers. Besides Claremorris, the company also has service centres in Dublin, Sligo, Galway, Cork, Limerick, Waterford, Donegal, Killarney and Belfast.

Having relocated the business to a new build property on the IDA Business Park, the company were keen to upgrade their security arrangements and wanted the latest in electronic access control. They needed a flexible installation that offered all the advantages of a fully featured hard wired system at but at a more competitive cost.

CBE has installed smart proximity electronic locks from SALTO Systems into its R&D and corporate headquarters in Co. Mayo. The installation has been carried out by approved local SALTO business partner, Doorware.

SALTO’s comfort range was specified and a total of 20 Mifare controlled offline locks in a stainless steel finish were fitted to the buildings internal doors with 2 front and back external doors being hard wired with SALTO’s ‘roll call’ feature allowing CBE to track employees ‘live’ throughout the building – enabling the company to know who was granted or denied access at any door and when. Entrance/exit access through both doors is controlled via Mifare enabled staff ID cards validated at ‘hot spot’ wall mounted readers.

The comfort range is specifically designed for use with internal and external doors. Simple and quick to install, power is supplied via 3 AAA batteries good for up to 45,000 openings and each lock can support up to 64,000 users.
