Peoplesafe monitors and protects Countryside Properties sales staff
(12/10/2007)
Countryside Properties PLC, a developer of sustainable new communities and urban regeneration, has turned to Peoplesafe for protecting its sales staff. Peoplesafe is providing the company’s lone workers with peace of mind, knowing that they are being monitored in potentially hazardous situations and can discreetly summon help if threatened.
Supplied by Rocksure Systems, the Peoplesafe service is providing Countryside Properties with a solutions package that encompasses the Peoplesafe device, operator response, tracking, training, configuration, monitoring and ongoing support.
Prior to purchasing the Peoplesafe service, negotiators at Countryside Properties relied on an emergency button connected to the local police station. However, aware that this could lead to false call-outs and that the negotiator may be not able to reach the button if their path was blocked or they were showing a potential buyer around a show house Countryside Properties decided to investigate other protection devices.
Rocksure Systems’ Peoplesafe service is designed to encompass every aspect of a company’s need to provide duty of care to its employees when working alone. The service includes the Peoplesafe unit, operator response, tracking, training, configuration with the most appropriate mobile network and ongoing support.
The Peoplesafe device resembles a normal ID holder but is in fact packed with the latest mobile technology. It enables a lone worker to discreetly raise an alarm if threatened and also allows a third party to listen to what is happening and record events whatever the distance. The device can also support the pinpointing of a worker’s location using GSM/LBS technology.
The device includes a lanyard attachment that enables it to be worn around the neck as a standard ID and hides a ‘rip alarm’ function, which is triggered if the unit is forcibly removed from the wearer. Peoplesafe is flexible enough to be configured in a number of ways, thereby allowing an employer to adopt the device without the need to significantly change or alter current working practices.
Users press a ‘checking in’ button to notify their employer when they know they are entering a potentially hazardous situation. If they then have cause to press the red alert, operators at Rocksure’s remote monitoring centre retrieves the information on their locality, listens in on the line to what is happening and co-ordinates the appropriate emergency support – involving the police if necessary.
Countryside Properties has purchased a total of 12 Peoplesafe devices to protect their employees who have said: “I feel so much safer with Peoplesafe, especially when it is dark. I have not had to use it that often, but it is good to know it is there”.
Sales personnel at Countryside Properties have been very positive about Peoplesafe stating: “I have been in property sales for many years and have used several different personal alarms but none have provided me with confidence in their ability to protect. However, Peoplesafe is different and I feel very confident that if I am at risk I am now protected and think all sales negotiators should be provided with them”.
