Magenta Security Services continues to demonstrate the fact that green and ethical policies can run hand in hand with security policies. Their latest initiatives include a commitment to running only LPG vehicles by the end of 2008, a factor that was instrumental in their recent success during an ISO 14001 re-assessment.

Magenta already has a substantial fleet of LPG run vehicles on the road, which was one of the environmental policy’s prime objectives. It also fits their continuing commitment to ISO 14001, an accreditation they have held for more than six years. Magenta was the first manned guarding company to achieve this standard with the British Standards Institute in Europe.

Their green policies were also an instrumental part in their recent win of London’s Royal Parks guarding contract.

Magenta’s environmental policies also include a strong commitment to recycling, much of which is done to support Tommy’s, the children’s charity. Magenta’s paper recycling has been designed with client security in mind as all unwanted documents are shredded by an accredited company in the presence of a Magenta company officer.

Magenta’s social responsibilities don’t however stop at the environment. They are also heavily involved with local communities close to head office, regional offices and individual contract bases. Examples include their sponsorship of children’s football; road safety awareness amongst schools in the West London area; and adult cricket league teams.

Magenta Security Services, managing director, Abbey Petkar: “Running a successful business is not just about balance sheets, profit and loss and turnover. It is about giving back to our staff and the local communities where we work. Whilst we are immensely proud of our environmental and ethical policies, we are not resting on our laurels, instead we are looking for new and innovative ways to help the environment and people around us.”

Magenta is one of the UK’s fastest growing security companies, providing tailor made security solutions to a wide variety of clients. Their service based ethos and intensive account management assures ongoing customer satisfaction. Magenta’s portfolio of clients focuses on discerning “high end” organisations such as embassies, blue chip companies, educational establishments and heritage sites.

Managing director, Abbey Petkar started the company in 1995, since when it has grown from a handful of staff to a major force in the UK security industry. Magenta’s head office lies close to Heathrow, whilst regional offices are located in Kent, the Midlands and Southern Ireland.
