The 3rd China International Occupational Safety and Health Exhibition (COS+H 2006) will open at the New Hall of China National Agricultural Exhibition Center, Beijing, on September 19, 2006. This exhibition is hosted by the State Administration of Work Safety, co-sponsored by American National Safety Council, and jointly undertaken by the International Exchange & Cooperation Center of State Administration of Work Safety and Messe Düsseldorf China Ltd.

As an international trade show specialized in the field of safe production and occupational health, COS+H 2006's exhibition area now reaches 13,000m2, 50% of which is taken up by international exhibitors from the U.S., Germany, France, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong SARS and Taiwan Province. The international exhibitors include Bacou, 3M, North Safety Products, Draeger Safety Equipment Co., Ltd, MSA Safety Equipment Co., Ltd., Woshine Safety Equipment Co., Ltd., Lingzheng Safety Equipment Co., Ltd., Industrial Scientific China, MCR Protective Products Ltd., Dupont China, Kimbley-Clark (China) Co., Ltd., and many others. Domestic enterprises such as Zhongtian Huaxin, Shanghai Jinzecheng Industrial Safety Articles Co., Ltd., Beijing Kuanxin Information Technology Co., Ltd., Dongguan Zunrong Shoes Co., Ltd., Occupational Safety & Health Ltd, Shanghai SAISI Industrial & Trading Co., Ltd., Yihe, and Hebei Botou Safety Tools Co., Ltd. will also join in the trade show.

According to the organizers, this exhibition is expected to attract over 12,000 trade visitors from various industries such as petrochemical, architecture, electric & electronics, environmental protection, mining, mechanical engineering, automobiles and transportation, medical and pharmaceutical, etc., of which, over 10% will come from overseas countries such as South Korea, U.S., Singapore, Germany, Malaysia, Italy, and France, and from Hong Kong and Taiwan regions as well.

A delegation composed of leading enterprises from South Korea and organized by Korea Association of Safety Equipment will also visit the event and conduct business matching and exchanges with exhibitors. Currently, the organizers are actively coordinating with regional governmental departments and related associations for organizing visitor groups. The related leaders from State Administration of Work Safety will lead a team to the provinces and cities surrounding Beijing and other regions in the country where there’s a huge demand for occupational safety and health products, to carry out the visitor promotion and related publicity work.

The organizers will also hold various forums, conferences and technical seminars, in an effort to raise the attention to and awareness of work safety and occupational health in various industries, and at the same time carry out in-depth discussions on systems, rules, production standards, product technologies, etc. The 3rd China Int’l Forum on Work Safety (CWS), co-hosted by the State Administration of Work Safety (SAWS) and International Labor Organization (ILO), will be held in parallel with the trade fair, where all honorable guests invited to the forum will gather on the site for visiting and exchanging with each other. At the Personal Protection Equipment Industry Market Conference, experts from SAWS in charge of special labor protective products safety label management will be invited to deliver key-note speeches, and detailed explanations will be given to related issues of safety label application and the uniform administration by SAWS on such labels in accordance with related rules of the safe production law in order to reinforce the administration on labor protective articles.

Experts from PPE Standardization Committee will also be invited to the conference to make a systematic presentation on the status quo of China’s PPE standard, the progress of formulation and revision of the “standard”, the construction of standard system and its progress, etc., and introduce the related PPE standard of ISO.
