Grisoft launches anti-spyware with generic unpacking of compressed malware, true memory scanning, heuristics and binary signatures

Grisoft, the maker of AVG Anti-Virus, has announced the release of ewido anti-spyware 4.0, which provides comprehensive protection against a wide array of security threats. This new version include a powerful combination of advanced security features such as generic unpacking of compressed malware, true memory scanning, heuristics, and use of binary signatures for the most thorough analysis of programs that place users' computers at risk.
Additionally, it provides extended analysis tools, which allow users to manually inspect their computers for suspicious activities by tracking running processes, start-up entries, current Internet connections, and detection of browser plug-ins. It supports Fast User Switching - a feature of Windows XP – that allows several users to be simultaneously logged onto a workstation without compromising security.
“Today’s announcement is the first anti-spyware enhancement to emerge following the recent acquisition of ewido by Grisoft,” said Michael Foreman, partner at AVG UK, Grisoft's official UK business partner. “We are now able to offer our customers and resellers outstanding value on two of the world’s best antivirus and anti-spyware packages for home PCs and business workstations.”

The ewido anti-spyware 4.0 is available immediately for major world languages in multiple seat options or as a special bundle, ewido plus AVG, via the Grisoft website. Price for single copy of ewido 4.0 (1 year licence) is £19 + VAT (download). Price of ewido+AVG bundle (1 year licence) is £28 + VAT (download). For users of previous ewido versions, the upgrade is free of charge.
