Argyll Telecom has joined forces with Connexion2, Lancashire Ambulance Service and conflict specialist, Maybo, to offer free road shows providing advice and guidance to managers on all aspects of lone worker safety including training, policies and technology. The Road Shows are also being supported by mobile phone network providers Orange and 02.

The Road Show is aimed at all managers who are responsible for lone worker employees including local government, finance, transport, retail, estate agents, emergency services, facility management, security, health and safety and the NHS.

The Road Show will be in Darlington on the 15th June and then visit key locations throughout the UK concluding in Slough on 9th November. Attendees will have the opportunity to experience real life technology and solutions in action and receive advice from experts on all aspects of lone worker safety ranging from mobile network capabilities to service options and conflict resolution.

Road Show dates are as follows:
15th June: Darlington
17th August: Bristol
14th September: Leeds
5th October: Runcorn
26th October: Paddington
9th November: Slough

Delegates wishing to receive an invitation and details of the Road Show in their area should register on-line using the special form available on the Events Page of Argyll Telecom's website.

Argyll Telecom offers a number of purpose-made lone worker devices. In partnership with Connexion2, one such device is the IdentiCare™ that has been extensively trialed by the NHS Counter Fraud and Security Management Service (CFSMS). IdentiCare™ looks like a normal ID holder, but is equipped with a dual or tri-band GSM module, GSM SIM card, lithium battery and control electronics. The state-of-the-art product not only enables the lone worker to discreetly raise an alarm if threatened, but also allows a third party to listen to what is happening and record events whatever the distance.

Commenting, Tom Morton, Managing Director of Argyll Telecom, said: "This Road Show is an ideal opportunity for managers to find highly effective solutions for monitoring the safety of lone workers who may be operating in remote areas or in hazardous situations. Delegates will leave the Road Show better equipped to meet the legislative requirements relating to the health and safety of their lone worker employees".
