Nexans to launch ALSECURE fire-resistant cables
(07/03/2006)
At Firex South, Nexans will launch its new ALSECURE NX 200 and NX 200 PLUS ranges of fire-resistant building cables developed to ensure continued operation of vital safety systems for the critical evacuation periods required by the highest UK standards (with BASEC and LPCB type approvals).
The ALSECURE NX200 and NX200 PLUS fire-resistant cables have been developed by Nexans to ensure the continued operation of building safety systems such as fire detection, emergency lighting, voice alarm, public address, smoke evacuation and so on during the evacuation and fire-fighting period.
NX200 cables are for use on all properties where an evacuation period is required (in compliance with BS5839-8434 part 1, PH30) while NX200 PLUS cables are intended for applications where phased evacuation is required (in compliance with BS5839-8434 part 2, PH120) such as hospitals, schools and high-rise buildings.
In addition to meeting extreme fire conditions for extended periods, the ALSECURE NX200 and NX200 PLUS cables are halogen-free and flame retardant, with minimal smoke emission.
The NX200 and NX200 PLUS cables are easy to install; with no extra tapes to remove, they are easy to strip and they retain their memory.
The ALSECURE NX200 and NX200 PLUS cables are supplied on colour-coded reusable plastic reels – with a pop-up handle. The reels can also be used in conjunction with Nexans own rolling device system.
The ALSECURE NX200 and NX200PLUS ranges offer a choice of core count and conductor sizes for use with AC and DC voltages of 300/500V. They form part of a developing range that will also include single-core and armoured cables as well as fire-reaction cables.
