Noble Security has become the first UK manned security provider to join the 'rent when you require' security revolution, pioneered by the recent launch of secureBOX, a 'wire-free' virtual security system that aims to bring affordable 24/7 security on a rental basis.

Developed by Secure Box Ltd and Orange approved 'wire-free' telemetry specialist BOX telematics, secureBOX can not only provide affordable security to potential clients, but open up the security market to a much larger audience, providing the customer with their own virtual security guard around-the–clock. With new markets and customers opened up by the secureBOX rental approach, the adoption of 24/7 virtual security is set to signalling double digit growth potential - a much needed revenue injection and boost for the whole industry.

Noble Security's director George Mensah is set to provide secureBOX customers with the benefits associated with manned guarding, at a fraction of the cost. He said: “As thieves know, if a building is unattended, without security, it is of course easy pickings. This is why so many businesses opt for manned guarding, having one or more members of security staff on site 24 hours a day. For individual companies there are two main concerns about this approach, firstly the cost of employing one or more staff and secondly the risk factor associated with not having this kind of protection.

“As an industry we are also faced with a growing skills shortage and a need to offer security solutions to a wider range of vulnerable businesses and individuals. This is why it is so important to take full advantage of technological developments like secureBOX. Because it is a rented product, businesses and individuals can fulfil their security needs on an ongoing or as required basis. By programming the device to contact both the owner and our 24 hour security operation, we as a security solutions provider, are able to respond to any alarms immediately, sending one of our roaming patrols to check out the building - apprehending thieves where possible.

“From a cost perspective, because the secureBOX can be rented, as a business we can also offer a similar when you require assistance service, based on the customer paying an affordable monthly fee and sensible call out charges. From a financial perspective this can therefore generate significant additional revenue streams for our business, with no need for substantial investment as we already have and alarm response system.

“It is this approach to winning new customers that makes secureBOX such an important product for the industry. The ‘wire-free’ element also has significant benefits over its telephone wire based counterparts, where system vandals can take full advantage of their weaknesses and repair costs can be significant. For our business it can become costly having to respond to false alarms and place guards on-site when a system has been damaged. With secureBOX able to operate without the need for phone lines and mains power, the alarm will only go off if a sensor is triggered and even if the intruder spots the well hidden device it has already sent out the alarm. This covert style system does not let the intruder know they have been detected, enhancing the element of surprise when one of our patrols is alerted, a factor that ultimately leads to better apprehension levels and happier clients.”

With plans already in place for partnerships with manned security firms across the UK, Secure Box Ltd is shaping the future of ‘rent when you require’ affordable covert security. Explaining how the system works, Secure Box Ltd director Adam Lees commented: "As soon as an intruder is detected, wireless sensors send a signal to the secureBOX, which then sends alarm signals across the mobile phone networks. From the mobile phone network, the signal is redirected to the receiving centre and any pre-set mobile phone. As a final precaution, the receiving centre logs all messages with a time and date stamp. The system can then forward the message to an infinite number of mobile phones designated by Noble Security or any other customer, alerting them to the intrusion and allowing them to take instant action. To add to the simplicity of the device, we can pre-programme mobile telephone numbers for our customers right from our desks, making it efficient and as hassle free as possible. secureBOX can be armed and disarmed by the individual using an SMS text command, just like a simple alarm system."
