Launch of new GPS-based fleet management solutions

Sentinel Live and Sentinel, two new telematics systems from 2020 Fleet Management, have just been launched. The result of 18 months of research and development, these innovative GPS-based fleet management solutions are set to save valuable time and money, for businesses with vehicles on the road, as well as offering real security benefits.

Sentinel Live is aimed at owners of large fleets and enables companies to track an unlimited number of vehicles simultaneously, in real-time. And because it works via Internet protocol, Sentinel Live incurs none of the call charges which are associated with many of the tracking systems currently on the market.

2020 recognises that any large fleet operator investing a sizeable amount of time and money will not want an off-the-shelf product that is probably able to accommodate only about 25% of their fleet management requirements. Thus, with this in mind 2020 will assess how best Sentinel Live and its numerous applications can be utilised by interested businesses, and then create a bespoke package that will enable more efficient management of a company's logistics and product supply lines, resulting in significant operational and financial savings.

Smaller fleets will benefit from Sentinel. Using a PC-based modem, vehicle positions are periodically stored by the hardware and information can then be downloaded and reviewed at a later date on the Sentinel 'map' which uses video controls, or via Sentinel reporting which allows vehicle movement histories to be printed out.
