Special Operations Software has announced the availability of Specops Password Policy 3.0. Specops Password Policy is a password policy enforcer that allows system administrators to specify multiple password policies. Based on Group Policy technology, Specops Password Policy can be configured in any number of Group Policies within Active Directory. Version 3.0 offers granular password complexity and almost limitless flexibility when defining rules for password policies.

Key enhancements in Specops Password Policy 3.0 include:
· Support for Windows Server 2008. Sentinel runs on a Windows Server 2008 domain controller and the Admin Tools can be used to manage a Windows Server 2008 domain.
· Regular expressions support.
· New password policy rule which provides the ability to disallow an ending digit.
· A new dictionary option - Disallow reversed dictionary words.
· New email options - Configure email sender and send email without password policy information.
· Interoperability with Specops Password Reset. The interactive control for new passwords interacts with Specops Password Policy. The password expiration balloon can be clicked if Specops Password Reset is installed in the domain.
· A customizable text option included with the message the end user sees when failing to comply with the password policy during a password change.

“With regular expressions support in Specops Password Policy 3.0 we now support any kind of password policy our customers desire,” said Robert Lundh, CEO of Special Operations Software. “This flexibility has been requested by our customers and since their opinions are very important to us it was natural for us to add this functionality.”
