Centennial Software launches DeviceWall SBE endpoint security solution
(10/03/2008)
Centennial Software has launched Centennial DeviceWall Small Business Edition (SBE), a fully-featured version of its endpoint security solution tailored specifically to meet the needs of small businesses in the UK. DeviceWall SBE makes it easy for organizations with up to 100 PCs to protect themselves against accidental or malicious data leakage, which could otherwise put the company out of business.
Centennial DeviceWall SBE addresses the internal threat posed by data storage devices such as USB drives, MP3 players and PDAs. It prevents the unwanted transfer of data to or from portable devices by automatically enforcing security policies based on an employee’s legitimate business need. User access can be blocked, limited to read-only or left unrestricted according to the individual’s security privileges and device type in use. This means that no confidential data can leave the organization without prior authorization.
For those times when it is necessary to carry sensitive data on devices such as USB sticks, DeviceWall SBE can automatically encrypt all data transferred to storage devices ensuring that even if data is lost in transit, it neutralizes the threat of a costly and embarrassing security breach. The solution’s auditing capabilities provide complete visibility of all device connections and data transfers across the network.
“Data breaches have been dominating the headlines recently and have caused organizations of all sizes to reassess their attitudes towards information security, particularly in relation to mobile devices,” said Matt Fisher, VP Marketing at Centennial Software. “No matter what vertical market they operate in, small businesses often live or die by their intellectual property and ability to gain competitive advantage through their data. Failing to lock down portable devices on the network is like leaving the back door open and inviting someone to help themselves to your livelihood.”
Smaller organizations often have limited IT resources, both human and financial, and therefore need a solution that is quick and easy to install, with minimal ongoing maintenance. Centennial DeviceWall Small Business Edition is designed to be an off-the-shelf product which requires no specialist technical knowledge to implement and manage, ensuring small businesses can make full use of the award-winning technology from the outset.
DeviceWall SBE is being launched in the UK through Pillar Solutions, one of the most experienced and successful DeviceWall resellers. Victor Dennis, MD at Pillar Solutions, commented: “With 99% of UK businesses having fewer than 50 staff, the UK is essentially a nation of small businesses. We’ve already seen a increased interest in endpoint security from this community and expect DeviceWall SBE to be an ideal fit for any growing business that realizes the importance of securing their data against loss or theft.”
The solution is available for 5, 10, 25, 50 and 100 users. Prices for the 25 and 50 user licences are £445 and £845 (each plus VAT) respectively.
