Zebra P640i printers register eight million Angolan voters using biometric data

With an area of almost 1.25 million square kilometres, Angola is five times the size of the UK. Zebra P640i printers have been used to register eight million Angolan voters using biometric data, ahead of the first elections in the country for the past 16 years. The printers were used in mobile registration centres set up in each of the country’s 18 provinces. Showsec develops qualification course for restraining and ejecting unruly customers at events

The need to restrain and eject unruly customers at events is frequently believed to be a major role for event security companies. But, as Roy Wise, Training and Development Officer at Showsec, points out “Our focus is on the safety of the 99.99% of event goers who come to enjoy themselves peacefully. Malware outbreak with Trojan horse masquerading as a media file

McAfee Avert Labs has reported the most significant malware outbreak in three years with more than 500,000 detections of a Trojan horse masquerading as a media file. Since Friday May 2nd, more than half a million instances of the Trojan have been detected on consumer PCs running. The malicious MP3 music or MPEG video files have appeared on popular file-sharing services such as Limewire and eDonkey. McAfee rates the threat "medium" risk.
