All individuals checked in random operation in Scotland held valid SIA licences(07/01/2011)
Last month, the SIA carried out the four-day operation to test compliance amongst those working in the private security industry in Scotland. Former Dorset security director fined for supplying unlicensed door staff and working without SIA licence(19/02/2010)
By law, anyone working as a door supervisor must have and display a valid SIA licence. This means they have passed an approved training qualification and undergone vetting such as criminal record and identity checks. Directors and managers must have at least a non-front line licence. The SIA’s extension into Northern Ireland creates a single consistent licensing scheme for the private security industry throughout the United Kingdom. Security Industry Authority checks licences in Blackpool and Burton(17/09/2009)
All door staff and contract security guards must have a Security Industry Authority licence and this display this while working, as set out in the Private Security Industry Act 2001. The premises supervisor must hold at least a non-frontline licence.
