Russia replaces the USA as world's top spammer

According to Kaspersky Lab's monthly report on global spam activity, for the first time in recent years, the USA has dropped out of the top ten sources of spam, finishing October in 18th place. Russia has now pushed the USA from pole position in the global spam distribution list. The domination of ransomware threats

According to Fortinet's March 2010 Threatscape report, nine of the detections in the malware top ten list resulting in either scareware or ransomware infesting the victim's PC. Fortinet observed the primary drivers behind these threats to be two of the most notorious botnet “loaders”: Bredolab and Pushdo. The Sophos Security Threat Report examines existing and emerging security trends and has identified that criminals are increasingly using creative new techniques in their attempt to make money out of internet users. The return of the three year old worm

According to Sophos, the old-timer Traxg worm has leapt to number two in the chart, accounting for nearly 25 percent of all recorded email-borne malware in November, despite first being detected more than three years ago in October 2004.
