An Edinburgh security boss has been fined for failing to provide information about his company to the Security Industry Authority. At Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday, Prinz Patrick Ukonga, 44, pleaded guilty to failing to provide information to the SIA when requested – an offence under the Private Security Industry Act 2001. Northern Ireland security companies must ensure compliance with Private Security Industry Act(16/11/2009)

Security Industry Authority and Fife Police check security guards to ensure compliance(19/06/2009)
Investigators from the Security Industry Authority and officers from Fife Police checked security guards working at commercial sites in St Andrews, Fife on Friday 12 June. The checks at security sites found the majority of security staff working within licensing regulations. Three held licences and one individual was working as a security guard in-house and therefore did not require a licence. Majority of security operatives checked in Scotland found to be working without an SIA licence(12/12/2007)
It is an offence to work as a door supervisor (in house and contract) in Great Britain without an SIA licence. A Door Supervisor licence is required if manned guarding activities are undertaken in relation to licensed premises.
