Online shoppers ignore security threats of festive fraud

According to a survey carried out by SafeNet, the credit crunch is driving shoppers online this Christmas, despite over fifty per cent of people saying they are concerned about the security issues of buying gifts on the Internet. Christmas online shoppers worried about identity fraud

According to a consumer survey carried out by SafeNet, three quarters of consumers are worried about buying presents online this Christmas. SafeNet asked 250 shoppers aged 21-35 about their gift buying plans this festive season. Overall, 72 per cent of people said they would feel less vulnerable to ID fraud by shopping on the high street, compared to surfing online.
