According to the fourth annual edition of the Global Retail Theft Barometer, global retail theft totaled $107.3 billion in 2010, representing a 5.6% decrease from the prior year (6.8% in the U.S.). New figures from the Centre for Retail Research, an independent organisation providing research and consultancy for the retail sector, showed the UK at the top of Europe’s retail crime ‘league table’. According to the third annual edition of the Global Retail Theft Barometer, the level of global retail theft reached $114.8 billion in 2009, representing a significant increase of 5.9% over last year’s total of $104.5 billion.
