AIM (Advanced Independent Monitoring) needed to review the increasing level of nuisance activations received in their Remote Video Response Centre (RVRC). In 2007 a Manchester school had an external CCTV system installed by a very credible NSI Gold installation company using 'Conventional' External PIRs, but within a few weeks of commissioning the system, it was apparent that the detection was generating lots of false alarms and the school demanded that something was done to eliminate the problem.
