All individuals checked in random operation in Scotland held valid SIA licences

Last month, the SIA carried out the four-day operation to test compliance amongst those working in the private security industry in Scotland. Security Industry Authority targets door supervisors and security guards in London

The Security Industry Authority carried out a two-day operation in London last week, which targeted door supervisors, security guards, CCTV operators and close protection operatives in three London boroughs (Kensington and Chelsea, Tower Hamlets, and Greenwich). Security Industry Authority clamps down on rogue door staff working in London pubs and clubs

Last week, 12 venues in Hackney were visited by Security Industry Authority investigators and 41 individuals inspected. Of those, 39 held valid SIA licences. Applicants for SIA licences can now fill in their form online with the e-Fill service introduced by the Security Industry Authority. e-Fill has been designed to make it easier and quicker for applicants to complete their application form. The Security Industry Authority (SIA) has changed its licence processing targets to reflect the continuous improvements it has made in this area. Previously, the SIA aimed to process 85% of licence applications from UK and EEA nationals within 33 working days, and 80% of all licence applications (UK, EEA and other) within 40 working days.
